I do have my Watch passively track my health and set to alert me if it detects anything off but I don't actively view and monitor my Health stuff - I know that's a big part of Apple Watch ownership but I literally just have it as a convenient extension of my phone more than anything. The most powerful system monitoring app for macOS, right in your menubar. So the Ultra remains an option but I am kinda hoping that the Watch 9 takes some design queues (no more curved edges on the screen is the big one I'm hoping for) from it and I can go the sensible route. I've tried on the Ultra via a couple different friends and despite having a really small wrist, it doesn't look or feel overly big to me - size wise it looks about the same as any other "rugged" style watch would that are super popular here in Colorado. The Ultra was tempting last year - I do love the huge screen and longer battery life but all of the other features that kinda result in its price tag might feel a bit extra for me. I know there's plenty of information about WatchOS 10 after WWDC, but I feel like rumors on Apple Watch Series 9 has generally been a bit slim. It's still technically make it thru my full day (and I charge it every night while I sleep back to full), but just as I kinda suspected as I started to notice my percentages getting pretty close to critical levels earlier and earlier in the day, figured this was gonna be the year for a new Apple Watch. Well, Watch Series 5 that I've had since launch is now routinely giving me low battery warnings as I wind down each night. If so, I might even get a dedicated SSD just for my Photos. And if I wanted to, could I use and external SSD to do this? It'll just download the full resolution photos to the SSD (if that's where the library is) at full resolution instead of "this Mac". So I guess my question is.that's what it'll do, right? Lol. The alternative is to optimize storage, which I actually don't want to do on my next computer (but I have to now). that will, as it explains, slowly download the files locally to my Mac at full resolution. Photos > Settings > iCloud > Download Originals to This Mac If I do that and select the option under. Then I want to link it to my iCloud Photos, of which I have like 25k+ photos and videos. I want to make a NEW, BLANK Photos library on my Mac (well, future Mac because I'm out of space). I've resisted posting here a lot about it because I know it's probably annoying for someone to constantly ask random questions about a personal project.īut this is a time I think I need to ask, just because I don't have enough space to do it right now and try it out. I'm honestly pretty proud how much I have been able to accomplish on m own, LOL. It's been a journey migrating from Google Photos, let me tell you. So I'm deep in the throes of overhauling my entire photos organization on my Mac. ![]()
